Tracr and Mountain Province work together to register mountain province production on leading diamond traceability platform

Mountain Province to engage with customers regarding opportunities for carrying the provenance story of its rough diamond supply further downstream.

Tracr, the world’s first fully distributed diamond traceability platform that starts at the source and operates at scale, today announced it has been working with Mountain Province Diamonds to register Mountain Province’s production from the Gahcho Kué mine in Canada on the Tracr platform.

The registration of Mountain Province diamonds on the platform has been carried out with support from Innovseed, which provides diamond scanning technology via its DiaBot machine, and Bonas Group, the diamond tender house that has carried out the scanning of Mountain Province rough diamonds on to Tracr at scale. Following the completion of the initial registration process, Mountain Province will engage with its rough diamond customers on opportunities for carrying the provenance story of its rough diamond supply further downstream.

Wes Tucker, CEO of Tracr, said:
“We are pleased to announce the progress we have achieved with Mountain Province Diamonds for registering its rough diamond production on the Tracr platform. This collaboration marks an important step forward in growing diamond industry participation in Tracr, and the potential for Mountain Province’s customers to further enhance efforts to promote the traceability of their diamonds in the future.”

Reid Mackie, Vice President Diamond Sales and Marketing from Mountain Province Diamonds said:
“With consumers now more interested in the origin stories behind their important, emotional purchases, it’s a priority that we find ways for them to connect with our diamonds’ unique, natural history.”
